Continuing with releasing excerpts from the comic book on Secretary Baker, here is an exceptional look at the some of the events that took place during the Cold War and its end- for children!
Read the comic about the Cold War here!
There are few topics that are more difficult to explain to children (and a lot of adults!) than the Cold War- a “war” which did not truly involve any direct fighting between the United States and the Soviet Union. In this comic, from a distinctly American perspective, students are given a detailed, image-focused understanding of the Cold War and the unfolding events that ultimately led to its end.
In particular, the comic goes through the differences between Communism and Democracy, the role of nuclear weapons, the Berlin Wall, and German reunification.
